Rose Marchesi

It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the passing of a fellow member.  Rose Marchesi lost her longtime battle with cancer on Friday, June 27th.  Many of you who attended our show last year in Strongsville, Ohio will remember Rose's Chevelle that was parked in the Holiday Inn lobby for the entirety of the show.  Rose was extremely proud of her car and spent many hours cleaning and working on it.  We will certainly miss her smile and contributions to the club but will miss her friendship most of all.

Rose's Memorial from the Green Family Funeral Home:

"Rose Marie Marchesi, 62 years of age, passed away Friday June 27, 2014 at her residence in Auburn Township, Ohio. Rose was born in Ravenna, Ohio on October 25, 1951, the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Mays) Vrabel. A lifelong resident of Geauga and Portage counties,  Rose was a graduate of Kenston Local Schools, following which she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Kent State University in 1990. Rose had been employed at Newbury Elementary School, then at Kenston Middle School.  When her children were growing up,Rose was their Sunday school teacher. For many years, she was active with the Mantua Center Craft Bazaar, and she enjoyed the time spent gardening  and cooking at home. Family and friends will always remember Rose as the “Betty Crocker” and “Mr. Goodwrench” who could cook and repair anything. A member of the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club, Rose was an avid car enthusiast who restored her 1970 Chevelle. Those who knew Rose, will always remember  the love she had for “Her Cats”, and the love that she had for the ocean and spending hours at her home in Myrtle Beach. Rose attended both New Hope Christian Church and Parkside Church. The smile and love for life that Rose had will forever be cherished for those who knew this lady. On August 22, 1987, she married Joseph A. Marchesi, Jr.  who survives at their home. Also surviving are her children Eric (Linda) Hammonds of Newbury, Emily (Larry Woo) Hammonds of Auburn Township and Tony Marchesi of Cleveland and her grandchildren Sterling, Senna, Alex and James. She was preceded in death by her sister Helen Vrabel. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, where her funeral service will be held Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio. "
